Tattoo insurance
Learn about all the guarantees of tattooing
Tattoo artists need two types of insurance:
Insurance for premises, equipment and stock;
Professional liability insurance for any damage caused to clients.
The first covers you against risks common to all professions, in an amount you can estimate (for example, if you have 2,000 euros of inventory, your risk is 2,000 euros).
The second is to cover you against the economic consequences of property damage, and especially physical damage, that you may face with your clients.
There are several companies operating in the tattoo market in France. While some are able to provide adequate coverage for premises, equipment and stock, liability insurance is more difficult.
Ultimately, many policies exclude the transmission of diseases resulting from skin breakdown.
iTC has named TATTOO ASSURANCES (www.tattoo-assurances.com) as the first policy that meets the specific needs of tattoo artists.
If you have to use other insurers, we recommend that you ask them for a certificate stating that the insurer does indeed cover "the transmission of diseases as a result of skin breakdown carried out according to French standards."
