What is a stencil? What is it used for?

The stencil is a crucial step in the creation of a tattoo, allowing your customer to visualize the location of the piece and the artist to have reference points for tattooing.

As a reminder, stencil means "stencil" in English. In tattooing, the aim is to transfer your design directly onto your customer's skin. To achieve this, you'll need the right professional supplies.

The products you'll need!

Stencil design requires carbon paper in the form of transfer paper or heat-copiable binders. If you don't want to make your stencil by hand, you'll need a thermal copier. It enables you to reproduce a design you've created in advance, either by hand or by computer. Once you've made your stencil, you'll need to use a transfer gel to apply it to your customer's skin. For fans of Freehand designs, you can use felt-tip pens that can be used on the skin are also available.
